Frequently Asked Questions

verified +347 experts reviewed it as the best choice in 2026
Q1 How do I set it up?
Set the 25 cm (9.8 in) ring on the tank floor, run the 150 cm (59 in) cord out over the rim, and plug in. The cord and plug come already attached, so you have nothing to wire.
Q2 How long is the cord, and what protects it?
The cord is 150 cm (59 in) with a metal spiral guard along its length, and the heater rests on the tank bottom. Measure from the floor, over the rim, to your outlet.
Q3 Will the plug fit my outlet?
The heater comes with a plug matched to your country, and a US 110 V plug is available. The plug is attached to the cord, so you plug straight into your outlet.
Q4 Which power options are there?
It comes in 750 W, 1000 W, 1250 W and 1500 W. Higher wattage means more heating power, so pick the one that suits your setup and your winters.
Q5 Which animals is it made for?
It is made as a livestock water tank de-icer for cattle, horses, chickens, ducks and geese. Set it on the floor of the tank where they drink and they find open water at chore time.
Q6 Will horses be able to get at the cord?
The heater rests on the tank bottom, and the cord has a metal spiral guard along its 150 cm (59 in) length. Measure your run so the cord reaches your outlet without strain.
Q7 What comes in the box?
You get the ring heater with its cord and plug already attached, in a box, ready to set on the floor of your tank and plug into your outlet.
