Frequently Asked Questions

verified +347 experts reviewed it as the best choice in 2026
Q1 Does it come with a propane tank?
No. The kit holds the burner head, extension tube, handle with valve and a hose with a cylinder fitting. You supply your own propane cylinder to connect to the hose.
Q2 How does it clear weeds without spray?
It heats weeds with flame instead of spray, so no chemicals are involved. You hold the flame on each weed, then move on to the next one along your driveway or garden edge.
Q3 Can I use it for more than weeding?
Yes. One torch covers four jobs: weeding, torching waterproof membrane, BBQ and thawing. You get more use out of the same kit once the weeds are done.
Q4 Can I take it apart?
Yes. The handle with valve, extension tube and burner head separate by quick coupling, and the hose detaches too. That makes it easy to stow between jobs.
Q5 How do I control the flame?
The rubber-grip handle has a metal trigger lever and a black flow knob on the brass valve body. Use the knob to set how much gas you want and the lever while you work.
Q6 What does the adapter kit add?
The adapter kit adds a brass adapter to the same torch kit. It weighs 1.9 kg (4.2 lb) packed, against 1.6 kg (3.5 lb) for the torch kit without the adapter.
Q7 Will it fit in my storage?
Yes. The set packs flat in a box measuring 45 x 20 x 8 cm (17.7 x 7.9 x 3.1 in), small enough to slide onto a shelf or into a cupboard between jobs.
