What our 17,000+ Customers say

Based On Real and Honest Experiences

We started my daughter on PisteGuard around age three, and she picked up her turns fast, controlling her own speed within a few days instead of just being pulled along. Now I barely need the tether on the easy runs.

Amanda R.Verified Buyer

Our first harness pulled apart at the strap after two runs and my son ate snow face-first. PisteGuard made it through a full season of falls, lift lines and freezing mornings without missing a beat.

Michael T.Verified Buyer

By day three on PisteGuard, I wasn't bent over every five minutes anymore. I could guide my son from a few steps back and let the tether do the work, and by the end of the trip my own back actually thanked me.

Frequently Asked Questions

verified +347 experts reviewed it as the best choice in 2026
Q1 Will PisteGuard teach my child to lean back instead of skiing on their own?
PisteGuard is built to guide, not drag. You control the tether distance and ease off as your child's balance improves, so they build their own control instead of depending on constant pulling down the run.
Q2 What age and weight range does PisteGuard fit?
PisteGuard fits children from ages 3 to 12 and is rated for up to 50kg, with a multi-point adjustment system that keeps the fit secure as they grow. If your child is under 3, check the size guide first to confirm the fit.
Q3 Is it safe to use PisteGuard around the chairlift?
Unclip the tether before boarding and let your child ride and ski as normal. If you ever need to free them quickly, the single-motion quick-release works instantly, even with ski gloves on, so there's no fumbling in the lift line.
Q4 Is PisteGuard sturdy enough, or could the strap fail like some cheap harnesses?
PisteGuard is made with weather-resistant materials rated to perform down to -20°C and built to hold up season after season, not just one trip. Like any gear that takes daily falls and tugs, give it a quick check before each use.
Q5 Should PisteGuard go over or under my child's ski jacket?
Many parents wear it over the jacket so the tether clips stay easy to reach and adjust all day. If the jacket is bulky, loosen the multi-point straps slightly for a secure, comfortable fit.
Q6 How is PisteGuard different from a basic child leash or rope?
A basic leash is one fixed length with no give. PisteGuard's dual tether adjusts up to 2 meters so you can ease off as your child improves, plus a single-motion quick-release for real control when it matters most.
Q7 Will the tether get tangled while we're skiing?
Keep a little slack on easy terrain and gather the tether when you're not actively guiding, which is how many parents avoid tangles. The adjustable length also means less loose line to manage than a fixed leash.
Q8 Does PisteGuard work for snowboarding, not just skiing?
Yes. The harness and dual-tether system aren't ski-specific, so they work the same way for snowboard training and adjust to fit as your child grows into either sport.
