I put the 17L Lidwyn in our kitchen for those messy-handed cooking nights. The lid pops open before I reach it, and nothing escapes once it closes, even after fish dinner.

Owen P.

I assumed a battery bin would be loud and flimsy. Lidwyn proved me wrong: it glides open and shut without a sound at my desk, and the finish suits my workspace perfectly.

Frequently Asked Questions

verified +347 experts reviewed it as the best choice in 2026
Q1 How does the touchless sensor work?
An infrared sensor detects your hand or any item nearby and lifts the lid instantly. After a few seconds without movement, it lowers itself shut.
Q2 What sizes are available?
The 13L model measures 22x22.5x28cm and weighs 0.75kg. The 17L is 22x22.5x33.5cm at 0.85kg. Expect a small 2 to 3cm variance from manufacturing.
Q3 Does it need batteries?
Yes, it runs on batteries so you can place it anywhere with no outlet or cord. The efficient circuit stretches standard batteries across months of daily use.
Q4 Is the lid noisy when it moves?
Not at all. A noise-reduction system moves the lid slowly and softly, so it stays nearly silent in bedrooms, offices, and open-plan homes.
Q5 Where should I use it?
Pick the 13L for bathrooms and under-desk spots. Go for the 17L in kitchens and living rooms, where you'll toss more waste each day.
Q6 Will it really keep odors inside?
Yes. The lid closes flush after each use, trapping smells inside so your kitchen, bathroom, or office stays fresh through the day.
Q7 How do I clean it?
Wipe the outside with a damp microfiber cloth. Keep the sensor lid away from running water so the built-in electronics stay protected.
Q8 Which colors can I choose from?
Choose White for a clean minimalist look, Gray for modern polish, or Black for a bold, sleek statement that suits your interior.
