GentleCatch works great with pets around. My cat got curious but couldn't reach the mouse inside the enclosed trap. Caught 4 so far this season, no smell, no mess, and it resets easily each time.

  • Bait the compartment with peanut butter, chocolate, or dried fruit, then place it along walls where you've spotted droppings.
  • Arm the touch-sensitive lever with one touch, no fighting springs to set it.
  • Once triggered, carry the enclosed chamber outside and release at least a mile or two away, then rinse and reset for next time.

Calm Capture, Built to Actually Work

Ventilation That Keeps Mice Calm

Multiple vents let air flow freely, so mice stay calm instead of panicking in a sealed box. That means an unharmed catch you can feel good about.

touch_app

Sensitive Lever, Reliable Trigger

A touch-sensitive lever arms in seconds and springs the moment a mouse investigates, so it can't grab the bait and walk away untouched.

Based On Real and Honest Experiences

Sarah K.Verified Buyer

As a vegan, I refuse to kill mice, and GentleCatch caught one within hours. It was alive and calm when I checked, so I drove it out to a field and let it go. Two weeks later I caught another, and I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't want blood on their hands.

Marcus T.Verified Buyer

GentleCatch worked exactly as hoped. Baited with peanut butter and placed along the garage wall, it caught two mice in three days, and the mouse looked calm, not scared, when I checked. My wife was thrilled we didn't have to kill them.

Frequently Asked Questions

verified +347 experts reviewed it as the best choice in 2026
Q1 Is GentleCatch safe around my pets and kids?
Absolutely. There are no toxic baits, snapping springs, or sharp edges, just a fully enclosed, pet-and-kid-safe design you can place anywhere in the home with confidence.
Q2 How often should I check the trap?
Check twice daily at minimum, ideally every few hours. The airflow vents help mice stay calm longer than sealed traps, but frequent checks keep the catch stress-free and let you release quickly.
Q3 Can mice chew through the plastic?
GentleCatch is molded from rigid ABS and PP, sturdier than the thin plastic used in many generic traps, so it holds up to repeated catches. No plastic is indestructible, so check and empty it promptly once triggered.
Q4 How far away should I release the mouse?
Release it at least a mile or two from your home in a field, park, or wooded area. The farther away, the less likely it finds its way back, since releasing it right outside the door often means you'll see it again.
Q5 What bait works best?
Peanut butter is the top choice since mice are drawn to its scent, though chocolate, dried fruit, or any commercial mouse bait works well in the bait compartment too.
Q6 Why isn't GentleCatch catching any mice?
Most missed catches come down to placement or bait, not the mouse beating the trap. Move it directly along a wall where you've seen droppings, refresh the bait every few days, and make sure the lever moves freely.
Q7 What if the mouse dies before I check the trap?
The airflow vents are designed to keep mice comfortable far longer than a sealed trap would, but no live trap is meant to sit for days. Check morning and evening, and release as soon as you find a catch.
Q8 Is GentleCatch better than snap traps or poison?
It solves different problems the same methods can't solve. There's no toxic bait to worry about, no risk of a snap injuring a curious pet, and no dead mouse decomposing somewhere out of reach, just an unharmed catch you release outside.
