Frequently Asked Questions

verified +347 experts reviewed it as the best choice in 2026
Q1 Does it come with a power adapter?
No. The box has the USB cable, and no USB adapter is included. You can power it from a laptop or a power bank, or plug the cable into a USB adapter you already own.
Q2 Is the tank glass or plastic? Will it break easily?
It's clear one-piece acrylic, not glass, with a body built to resist cracking. Set it on a flat surface, and the anti-slip silicone feet help it stay in place.
Q3 Can I keep a betta in this tank long term?
This is a compact desk tank, a filtered step up from a bowl. Many keepers give a betta a larger permanent tank and use a compact one for a desk, shrimp or a temporary stay.
Q4 Is this tank good for shrimp instead of a betta?
Yes. This tank suits fish and shrimp, and the side filter and lid LED make a neat little display for your desk or shelf, whichever you choose to keep.
Q5 What food should I use with the feeding hatch?
Use round pellets under 2 mm (0.08 in). Press the hatch in the lid lightly to open it, drop the pellets in, and your lid and LED stay exactly where they are.
Q6 Which size should I choose, and what do I measure?
Small is 15 x 11 x 13 cm (5.9 x 4.3 x 5.1 in); Large is 20 x 15 x 15 cm (7.9 x 5.9 x 5.9 in). Measure your shelf footprint and height first.
